NUCLEODEX®


NUCLEODEX® phases are manufactured by chemically bonding one of three cyclodextrins to NUCLEOSIL 100 silica. Cyclodextrins are cyclic oligosaccharides. The size of the chiral ring and interaction of racemic mixtures with the chiral sugar units control the enantiomeric separation process. In the permethylated cyclodextrins all hydroxy groups are replaced by methoxy groups. Alternative selectivities are obtained.
NUCLEODEX® screening kits for rapid and economical method development are available. Each kit contains a 30 x 4mm cartridge of each of the four NUCLEODEX materials, β-OH, α-PM, β-PM and γ-PM, together with a holder.

RESOLVOSIL®

RESOLVOSIL® BSA-7 was one of the first commercially available protein-bound columns to demonstrate optical resolution.

NUCLEOSIL® chiral-1

NUCLEOSIL® chiral-1 is a unique material offering separation of racemic molecules by ligand exchange HPLC. An L-hydroxyproline Cu2+ complex is chemically bonded to NUCLEOSIL 120 silica. Molecules containing two correctly spaced polar functional groups, such as α-amino acids can be optically resolved by this column through the formation of diastereomeric complexes of differing stability.

MACHEREY-NAGEL have introduced the NUCLEOCEL series of polysaccharide chiral stationary phases. The chiral selector of NUCLEOCEL DELTA is cellulose-tris-3,5-(dimethylphenyl) carbamate and together with the supramolecular helical
polysaccharide surface structure is mainly responsible for the chiral recognition mechanism. For NUCLEOCEL ALPHA the amylose counterpart of tris-3,5-(dimethylphenyl) carbamate performs this task.
The NUCLEOCEL product line includes columns for normal-phase and reversed-phase applications. The NUCLEOCEL DELTA and ALPHA phases are intended for analyses using normal-phase eluents, typically heptane - IPA. The NUCLEOCEL DELTA-RP and ALPHA-RP phases are designed for use under reversed-phase conditions either in polar organic mode or with eluents containing high concentrations of chaotropic salts such as perchlorate.
In addition to the 10μm phases (DELTA and DELTA-RP), higher resolution 5μm phases are available for these and for the ALPHA and ALPHA-RP phases.
NUCLEOCEL chiral stationary phases offer high loading capacities and thus are suitable for scale-up methods. The stable silica support protects the coated polysaccharide and tolerates high flow rates with a maximum operating pressure up to 2000 psi.
