The InertSustain® Series columns manufactured by GL Sciences are based on a radically new type of silica, in which the surface of the silica is uniquely modified, enabling precise control of the silica properties.

In addition to the original C18 phase, InertSustain C8, Phenyl and NH2 phases have been introduced. All phases are highly inert, producing high efficiencies and low operating back pressures. Columns show consistent performance from column-to-column and lot-to-lot.

  • InertSustain C18 and InertSustain C8 show high durability over a wide pH range (1 to 10). They show superior peak shape for acidic, basic and chelating compounds. In addition to the 3 and 5µm particle size phases, InertSustain C18 is available as a 2µm UHPLC column.
  • InertSustain Phenyl has phenyl groups directly bonded to the silica surface without an alkyl linker. This results in stronger pi - pi interactions which enhance the selectivity for aromatic compounds.
  • InertSustain NH2 is a highly stable and durable sugar analysis column, with separations based on weak ion-exchange and HILIC modes. The very low residual silanol levels minimise adsorption of reducing sugars
